Widely regarded as the continent's premier travel trade exhibition, Indaba has grown in status, quality and diversity to become one of the industry's top three most visited travel trade shows of its kind on the global calendar.
Indaba 2005, regarded as the most successful and productive ever, saw a record number of 10 700 participants. Tourism products and services from over 1500 companies came together to showcase the best the Southern African region has to offer the international tourism trade. Visitor numbers were up by 5%, reflecting the increased interest to do business with Southern Africa. Almost 600 media, both local and international, provided extensive coverage through radio, television, newspaper and dedicated travel publications worldwide.
"Indaba has always been regarded as a key event on both the regional and global travel trade calendars, but this year it has surpassed itself", said Moeketsi Mosola, CEO South African Tourism.
Exhibitor Profile:
Indaba brings together a showcase of Southern African tourism products and services for the international travel trade. Exhibitors in the DEC (Durban Exhibition Centre) include provincial authorities and provincial products. In the ICC (International Convention Centre), exhibitor categories include accommodation, tour operators, game lodges, transport, online travel, media publications and industry associations. Outdoor exhibitors include transport, camping and safari companies.
